Marshmallow Play Dough! (2024)

I’ve had a few parents say to me lately “why can’t they make play dough edible?” So I decided to do a bit of research and came across this recipe on one of my favourite apps – Pinterest…

It’s so easy to make and actually tastes really nice (yes I ate a lot!)

What you will need:

6 large marshmallows (12 small)

1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil

1 cup of cornflour (may need to add more depending on consistency)

food colouring

Method

1. Place your marshmallows, coconut oil & cornflour in a microwaveable tub and microwave for 40 seconds until the marshmallows begin to swell.

2. Stir the mixture together and add a small drop of your chosen food colouring. Checking the consistency as your stiring, if your mixture appears to be quite loose add a little more cornflour until it is no longer sticky.

3. Pour out onto a floured/non stick surface and knead gently.

There you have it – 100% edible marshmallow play dough! My Little Learners (and their parents/carers) loved it, and it’s perfect for messy play.

Little tip, Don’t eat too many marshmallows while making it!

Enjoy everyone!
