I'm pissed right now. I wasted two hours reading a book when suddenly there's mm in the harem. Aghhh!! Why can't they put it in the description?!

EDIT: There's one scene where . I don't like reading about it and it doesn't mean I'm a hom*ophobe, I just don't like the attention being away from the h. Maybe to some of you it doesn't seem fair to give it one star, but it's MY opinion, MY review and MY rating. Everyone rates books in a different way. So respect it. Thanks.

3 stars just cause it's C.M. Stunich (love her).

this wasn't bad. wasn't great either, but it wasn't bad. it kept me invested and entertained for a fair while, so that was good, and the characters were pretty cool. i loved April, Luke and Barron, and i also loved the Groundhog Day aspect of the story. but i also got kinda bored sometimes and the story could be pretty cringey... ah well.
all in all this was pretty good :)

3.5 ‘Reverse Harem’ 🌟

Unpopular opinion: I am not a huge fan of reverse harem or any sort of harem situation/trope, but I tried my hardest to give this book a fair shot. And this paid off and I was able to enjoy parts of the story and the trope.

Hot bullies, busted cars, and the party of the year. On an endless loop. I don’t know how, but I’m living today over and over again.

The premise of the book sounded very intriguing and unique to me which is why I decided to pick up the whole book after reading part of it in Bully Me: Class of 2020 Anthology. The story was entertaining at times, but it was also ridiculous and hard to follow at times to the point where I was just skimming some parts to get to the interesting parts. I liked how unique the characters were and what they represented, but, sometimes, I couldn’t help but think that it was overdoing it and some of the characters were needlessly dramatic at points.

They're wanton, ribald, lascivious little mischief makers.

The story in this book is based around a time loop trope where Karma, our female MC, relives Devils’ Day and the course of the day varies upon how she acts each time. Now, of course, it wouldn’t be reverse harem without some hot male MCs so Calix, Raz, and Barron fill that role. Calix with his crown of berries that drip juice down his head and forehead, Raz with his ruby red contacts (because why not?), and Barron with his rainbow mohawk. Also, somehow intwined with the time loop trope and reverse harem trope is some sort of a murder mystery that Karma embarks on to try to break the time loop.

He tastes like barely restrained desire, malicious narcissism, and dangerous temptation, all wrapped into one.

Out of all the three boys in the harem, I couldn’t help but fall for Raz. It was weird to imagine him always wearing the ruby red contacts, but it was easy to care for the person beneath them. If you know me at all, you know that I have a thing for problematic alpha-holes in the book and Raz represented this perfectly. And because of this, my favorite part of this book, hands down, was the time that Raz and Karma spent in her aunt’s house. I wouldn’t be surprised if I revisit this book just to read that part again until I commit it to memory. 😉

Overall, Devils’ Day Party was my first reverse harem trope book that I read in a while and I was expecting more out of it because of the interesting premise set up for the book. Having said that, this book was still entertaining most of the time and worth a read if you are into reverse harem trope featuring three brooding bullies and a spunky heroine!

I very rarely write reviews but I just had to for this one...WTH did I just read?
I honestly thought I would love it because I adore more of C.M. Stunich's books, but nope, not this one! I wanted to throttle the female heroine for most of the book. Maybe it was me, but this read like a sociopath meets 3 other sociopaths and has a bunch of messed up friends in the meantime. Not going to lie, I read until 56% and then skipped to read the end, because I had to see the finale, I couldn't not watch the end of the car wreck.

I'm not fond of writing negative reviews but this book was just that bad...

It's the story of a 17 year old girl named Karma🤣 who is in love with the three bullies at her school. Then on the " Devils' night party" day she " accidentally" crashes into one of the boys cars.
As the day goes by, disasters after disasters happen to her( release of a sex tape, being locked in a cellar....) And when she goes to sleep or dies, depending on how to day ends she goes back to the moment when she crashed her car. In an infinite loop...

Very promising storyline but so poorly executed....
I've read and appreciated a lot of c.m stunich's books but there was so many problems with this one...
-- the love or romance aspect is absent. I felt like it was an on and off switch between the FMC and her harem.
Harem: I hate you
Karma( the fmc's name 🙄) : I hate you too..... But oh no, I didn't know it myself but I love you!
Harem: is this a prank??
Karma: no I love you with all my being even if you bullied me for three years
Harem: ok well in that case let's f**k

Seriously!

-- I felt like the author just copied and pasted the first ten pages of the book over and over again with only minimal information gained and sentences changed here and there. The " loop" in which the FMC is trapped is repeating itself an unnecessary amount of time (37 to be exact )

Basically imagine yourself reading the same story 37 times until the heroine finally does the right thing by everyone meaning no one commits suicide, no sex tape is released ...
The book was way too long for the story. The author could have wrapped it up in half the book.

Maybe you are asking yourself why am I whining about the poor romance development between the characters but also about the unbelievable length of the book??
🤯🤯🤯
Because the pages are filled with the same description of the details in the loop the FMC is stuck in: she has to get away from the car accident for the one hundredth time, convince her harem for the one hundredth time that she loves them all.... Never ending!!

I've literally gone crazy with this book!!!

Finally, a RH with an interesting twist! A time-loop story, while unrealistic, it was also very addictive and entertaining. I'm also glad this book is actually a standalone with almost 500+ pages under its belt instead of the first book in a series. I'm always unsure to start a series when we have no idea when the next book is going to come out. Devils' day party is a contemporary bully romance so be aware of that before giving it a chance.

In this book we follow Karma as she tries to figure out a way out of this time-loop without anyone dying. Every time she falls asleep, pass out or die, she ends up waking up crashing into Calix's car, her wheel covered in blood. It takes her a long time to try many possibilities and during that time, she ends up admitting her feelings for her three bullies. It also made me tear up more than once.

Overall, very entertaining and I couldn't put it down!

This actually wasn't too bad. I've been trying different stuff lately because legit no book is doing it for me lately, so I figured why not. I'm not a fan of any movie or book that takes a play on Groundhog day, but since this is RH and unique, it didn't sound too bad to pass the time with, and I ended up even enjoying it.

One thing I thought was gonna annoy me was the repetitiveness of it, but the author did a really good job of making each day different. It being a RH actually helped the story along where it was almost like reading novellas or something, but each novella is how she would be with each of the heroes, and I enjoyed the time she got with all of them, really fleshing out the love between them all, even if there wasn't really build up to it, it still didn't bug me too much. It did suck that the heroes don't remember being with her though, because some of the scenes were actually really sweet.

I also normally don't like reverse harems because I always end up liking one hero over the other, but I actually liked them all in this book, probably equally too, so I was definitely rooting for them all. The end when they get together happened a bit too fast for me, but it helps that 2 of the heroes are for sure attracted to each other, though they still deny it lol, so I got some MM scenes, which I have to have in RH too. I'm not a fan of when it's the heroine gets to have s*x with everybody, and they only get to with her. Spread the jooyyyyy haha. So ya, the scene where they are all together definitely made me a happy camper.

Overall, an enjoyable read. Not sure if I will read again from this author though since she only really writes RH, and I tried another RH series of hers and it was very eh. She is definitely a great writer though, so hopefully she's gonna have some MF come out soon.

Wow!

This book was a whole new experience for me and I loved it! There were some things I wish would of happened differently but for the most part it really just makes you want to look at life with a different outlook! This story held such beautiful words that you cant help but to think of the way you live your life and treat others. Such a great book!

This book was ok not very good. It was pretty long(I don't have any problem with long books but it should be interesting), I got bored at times, but my main problem was Karma(yup, that's the heroine's name)In one scene she bullied Pearl, she was like if the day is repeating why not try different things, I got logic but doesn't mean you bully someone just because you are having a sh*tty day or sh*tty day on repeat no matter what happens. I tried to be fine with the scene but I just couldn't be fine with it, and except for her situation (gay moms, being poor, etc.).I don't know what made her so special and different, she acted just like a normal girl. Like in the starting of the book she was getting angry, I get it I am not against that but the problem was she took her anger out on her friend Luke which is also ok happens but she didn't apologize to Luke when the day was on repeat she realized what if there was no day on repeat would she have realized her mistakes? Would she have still apologized to Luke? I have read C.M Stunich's Rich Boys of Burberry Prep series and although many people found Marilyn stupid I liked her because she was good and she maintained that character throughout the series, she knew the difference between good and bad and knew when enough was enough which I didn't in Karma. Although I did like what the book was trying to teach the reader "Live and love and be happy for what you have and appreciate it."

There's blood all over my steering wheel

This was really good. I like C.M. Stunich's writing but the whole high-school bully thing has kept me away from her recent work. This book's "Groundhog Day" premise was interesting enough that I gave it a shot.

I like that this is a stand-alone novel. To allow for this it is twice the length of many romance novels, and it makes good use of its expanded runtime.

I like that the premise of one day being repeated again and again allows Karma's relationships to grow naturally, and privately, with all the key players.

I didn't like the resolution of this story, but it was well told and everything hangs together satisfactorily, I just wish Karma had found a different path to get to where she did.

C.M. Stunich writes good sex, and there's plenty of that here, but not at the expense of character development. Sometimes a "fade to black" moment is entirely appropriate to keep the narrative moving.

Recommended, if you're down for explicit, angsty, polyamorous teen romance.

“I knew the power of a single wish, after all. Invisible and inevitable, like a butterfly that beats its wings in one corner of the globe and with that single action changes the weather halfway across the world.”

The Butterfly Effect suddenly became so much more, at the hands of C.M. Stunich!

This contemporary RH standalone with a time loop twist, is phenomenal.

Definitely among my 2020 favourite reads, and I think it's the best this author have ever written.

[Editado]

"For years, we’ve been trading insults, bone-deep thrusts of verbal swords that sever bits of the soul."

Most original bully romance I have come across. Groundhog day meets Corrupt with faerie theatricality. I could not put this down. I am not a big fan of the RH bully romances but C.M Stunich does them so well. I loved all of the timelines and Karma was such an awesome heroine. Callix, Raz, and Barron are all really interesting characters that I wanted to hear more about their history. That was really the only negative I saw in this book. I wanted more insight into the guys. It was definitely more focused on Karma in that respect.

There were nods to paranormal workings causing the time loops but there is never a concrete explanation as to why its happening(which I love). Karma spends the majority of the book attempting to circumvent them by trying to change things ala the butterfly effect. I fell in love with Karmas home life with her two badass hippie artist moms. I mean who would complain about loving parents that also keep pot brownies in stock lol.

All of the costuming and locals she describes in the book are swoon-worthy. I would gladly live in that town. Debauchery and hedonistic frivolity with a bit of otherworldy mystery. Sign me up.

There were a few unanswered questions for me at the end of the book but since alot of these characters were originally seen in other series I am hoping that in later books they'll be addressed.

What the heck...??
Okay, totally agree with Steffani Halllock' opinion this was a f*cked up story.
I have no idea how I managed to last till the end, of course I've read between line as well, but this was full of crap.

No idea why so many gave such a big rating, as the characters are immature, childish and frankly not that bright. The first chapters are the most annoying. The heroine is beyond stupidity from my point of view, the only thing that made her look better were the loops.

In all honesty, there was a nice idea to the book, but if it would have had a better plot, aside all that dumb harem and sex, this would have been quite the nice book.

I don't think the characters improved, one can say that they just revealed what was underneath, which wasn't spectacular. Everything was cheesy and soooo dramatic.

Oh well, tastes are tastes and if other enjoy it, so be it.

P.S. the cover got my attention and the huge amount of 5 stars reviews... but in the end, only the covers deserves full admiration

P.S. 2 i thought this might be similar to Tijan's books.. nope

Okay so normally I hate bully stories and high school stories and first person present tense stories. But this one came recommended off of some blog I was reading and I like time loop stories so I gave it a try. I really enjoyed it, mostly because I liked seeing how she tried different things everyday.

First let me say that first person present worked here because it allowed you to consider that the heroine might not make it through the book. Also it was well done enough that I barely noticed it.

Secondly the bullying. The high school set up was thought out enough that you believed there could be this concentration of assholes. Two of the boys had some reason for being assholes to her which were at least somewhat believable. One of the boys not so much.

The high school thing, well... The guys were written a combination of way hot but also making dumb decisions and acting in ways that were totally not mature. So I guess it works. The bully thing really won't work for me at any age older than high school so I guess this was the most believable setting. I still don't like YA stuff in general.

I felt like the heroine grew over the course of the book which is one of the main things that I want of happen in a book. The author fulfilled that brief well here.

Also this was a one and done. Not a series so good on that score.

The time loop aspect is what drew me into this, reading the first few chapters from the Bully Me class anthology I wasn't overly pleased but curious I was.
So here I am buying this full standalone RH Bully romance.
I love a good bully romance, I crave the darkness I want books that make me feel add to the mix an original plot and I'm sold.
Potentially this could be a very good read, unfortunately I couldn't connect to the characters. I believe the author had the chance to achieve a lot but failed in some way.
I felt Karma was trying too hard, she was weak, she missed some spine and sass, she made so many poor choices even if she had the chance to live the same day over and over.
As for Calix, Barron and Raz they were all some wannabes, they needed a good kick in the ass to get some sense into them, and I couldn't find one redeeming reason behind their foul behaviour. They weren't bullies they were just spoiled brats acting in a childish manner.

I am in two minds with this book...
I enjoyed it to a point but I also got a little bored at times. I am not a huge fan of time loop and groundhog day sort of storylines so I guess thats where it went wrong for me. There were so many times I was tempted to just give up but it was one of those storylines that still managed to capture my attention and I just had to keep on going just to see how it all ended.
Being a high school bully book, it was a little light on the bullying side of things. There was some but most of it was more of Karma talking about how the 3 main guys have bullied her over the years, not so much of them doing it now. Don't get me wrong, there was some tormenting, but not a lot.
Like I said, I am in two minds about this book so I am finding it a little hard to review. But don't get me wrong, the storyline was well thought out, interesting and well written and had everything needed to keep your attention.

I’ve never really been a fan of the Groundhog Day-relive a day in your life storyline. Nor am I a fan of bully romances, however this author usually will win me over. I just didn’t end up loving this one. Don’t get me wrong I was sucked in and involved throughout, I just wanted more from the heroine. More of a backbone, more revenge and hell a better final day cause what this girl got was a mess. Her three bullies (harem) are really a bunch of assholes. I guess I just really wanted her to fight fire with fire and she never really did. I was also rather disappointed in the ending. While this book wasn’t for me overall, I didn’t hate it and I’ll continue to read bully romances or any RH from this author because I’ve really enjoyed them!

This book is evidence that you can hate the characters of the book and still enjoy the plot. I didn't know this was possible before, as whenever I didn't like someone, the plot was also not too great and I would DNF the book, which I didn't this time. I was ready to drop it a couple of times actually, but I'm happy I have stuck to it and finished this weird read.

Let me say - the Groundhog Day trope is my least favourite trope of them all, out there. I hate it so much I usually pass on the movie or book without even checking the story behind it. BUT - I was glad I didn't pass on the opportunity here, as it was quite entertaining.

As I mentioned in the first paragraph, I absolutely disliked the characters, except maybe April, and she doesn't even play the main role here. I know Karma had lessons to learn, and the devil's trio were all just jealous and in love with her, but their actions, their hurt was hurting me and my eyes. I do like enemies to lovers, I do like the bully trope, but this? They were not for each other. A gang of rotten kids - that's how I felt most of the time anyway.

However, I closed my eyes to all of this as the plot itself was really, really good - even if at times predictable.

Well at the start I was like how is the romance going to play out and I really did hate the knights kids. Once the twist happens I liked the way the relationships were formed. I didn't agree with all her decisions but I found this to be a great roller coaster of a ride. I was entranced and hated putting it down because I really wanted to know what happened next.

"Three boys. Three shards of my heart. No easy answer."

If this book wasn't this unexpected I would have given it five stars. Everything was unexpected, except for the four of them ending up together. But the character get five stars, they were all f*cking amazing, my fav would be barron, sonja and luke bc they're the best.

Groundhog Day, Karma, The Universe Rights itself.

One thing I like about reading A book by an author like say….Lily White p, amongst others is that they doesn’t take the story in the direction you thinks it’s going to go.
There is always something unexpected. Something completely out of left field that you never saw coming.

All this “wrapped it up in a neat little bow” ..well...love story???

FORGET IT!!!

I hesitated to call it THIS book THAT

BECAUSE,

This book is about control, manipulation, power, (to a sickening extent) and murder.

Once i got to the end I was like,...

What the heck. How f’d up is this!

Crazy like nothing I have read before. I took a star off of giving it five stars just because of Ali and Lisa.
I wanted vengeance! for her.
But, you know what?... I couldn’t care less in the end because I really didn’t give a crap about any of these characters

*spoiler*

FYI They all move to New Orleans and live happily ever after.

Oh!...By the way that last bit with the butterfly’s in the bedroom,...Yeah...I think my neighbours heard me groan at that scene.
Is it bad that I wished Karma had stayed at the bottom of the Devils Den with rocks on her ankles?...I wanted a little less obvious ending!

CM Stunich’s stories have a bad habit of concentrating heavily on the SEX and not so much on character development, and backstory.

Even when she does cover these things it’s like she’s ruSHING through it to get to the SEX.

After finishing her stories I always feel a little dirty.

The female leads always come across as the same character, just different setting.

Using sex as a weapon.
If Karma was a Superhero, SEX would be her thing as she Collects guys to “ worship her like infinity stones.

Look. I’m no stranger to RH novels, but some do it well with rational reasons as to why the FL can’t chose.

So much so, that you can empathise if you like, put yourself in their predicament.

Then.

Some do it BADLY, when it just becomes chapter, after chapter of, meet a guy, talking for bit, then full on, down and dirty Screwing in GRAPHIC detail.

And C.M. LOVES all the detail.
They become the bigger focal point at the detriment of what could have been the interesting story that begins all these books.

Such a disappointment.

And two days of my life back :(

4.5⭐️: I loved this book way more than I thought I would. I got totally sucked into the story and couldn’t stop reading.

I started off kinda pissed at the boys for bullying Karma. I was furious at Calix for what he did (or I guess didn’t do?) at last year’s Devil’s Day Party, and for everything that happened at the first night of the current Devil’s Day Party. I felt heartbroken for Karma after she found out about the tape and the boys laughed at her.

Eventually, all of the boys grew on me. The more time Karma spent with them over and over, the more I loved them. They were just broken, broody boys who didn’t know how to show how they felt and were too afraid to.

I wish I had more scenes like the night on the school bus, but in more detail. ;) And with more of Raz and Calix together... and even add Barron in there. That would’ve been my dream come true. *drool*

I don’t always like bully romances but this one was one of the best ones I’ve read so far.

Español/Spanish:

No tengo palabras para describirlo... Bueno, tal vez una, ✨I N C R E I B L E✨

English/Inglés:

I have no words to describe it... Well, maybe one, ✨A M A Z I N G✨
It was the perfect combination of time loop, hate, and reverseee harem.
I loved the boys as much as I loved the "h" and the environment in which the whole story took place.
It was perfect, even though I cried, it was perfect.
5 stars is the least it deserves.

Calix, Barron, and Raz the assh*les.
and then there's karma the glutton for punishment.

But really, I did enjoy it in a trainwrecky way. It was super absorbing.
Would I read the author again... probably not, but that's just me. It wasn't really a romance imho.

Karma relives Devil's day over and over for no apparent reason, but it was entertaining. Especially as she let go of her fear and was able to be herself with everyone.
She's a high school student who is bullied by the Knight crew who are a group of friends; Calix, Barron, Raz and Sonia. They bully other kids too, but seem to focus a lot of attention on Karma.
Karma has her own crew of friends who are all the 'not cool' kids at school. A high school made up of rich kids that are unwanted by their parents for whatever reason.

It makes for a very unhealthy dynamic ...for everyone.

Anyways, Karma knows she is reliving the same day just as in the movie 'Groundhog Day', but other people don't. At least they don't at first...
She is unempowered at the start of the story but reliving the same day over and over, imbues her with power.

Like all stories in this trope the main character needs to figure out how to break the loop. She has to deal with isolation and exhaustion. She has to deal with repetition, but fortunately I didn't feel like the story was ever spinning it's wheels or 'repetitive' to the reader.

Did I find the story romantic. No, not really. But I did like Karma even though I think she has terrible taste in men.
Did the 3 boys redeem themselves. I guess so? I don't know that I would put much trust in them though.

There are a couple epilogues though that are meant to reassure the reader that the HEA is workable.
So the plus side is that this is truly a bully romance for those drawn to that trope. I liked that the characters were open about their sexuality. A couple of the guys like to make fun of Karma's lesbian mothers, but I got the feeling it was just to push her buttons and not that they were hom*ophobes.
I found the characters interesting but I never really learn much about any of them except for Karma. But everyone was a combination of good and bad. There was only one character that wasn't really redeemable.
The boys don't feel interchangeable, but they didn't have much depth.

There are lots of questions raised that you never get answers to...

So it was good, but not really my cup of tea.

Safety is better than I expected.

First 80% of the book I really liked. Great idea for a time-loop story, a bit of mystery, a bit of tragedy in each loop, maybe a tad unrealistic, but fun to read. Unfortunately, the last 20% turns into self-sacrificing bullsh*t that had absolutely no point nor sense for the entire story, and the epilogue, as in most of these books, was just lame.
