I'm finally getting a one good production from my blueberry bush, but the taste is rather lacking.
There is a lack of acidic punch, they are little better than your average store bought blueberries.
If I hadnt had fresh blueberries in the past, I wouldn't have wanted to grow them at all, store bought blueberries are "meh" to me.
What did I do wrong?
Is it perhaps a matter of variety?
I'm not sure what variety it is.
Even when we've grow tomatoes from grocery store hybrids, the results have plenty of taste.

Nice looking blueberries William!
A lot of rain sometimes makes mine more mild flavored. Irrigation may do the same.
I've heard that the more northern varieties are generally a lot sweeter and mild flavored.
Mine have also seemed to gain a better flavor as they get older. I think it may be that the root systems are more developed and have access to more nutrients.
Picking them a little before they are fully ripe may also give them a more tangy flavor.

Blueberries may turn blue before they are fully ripe, maybe wait a little longer and see if the flavor improves?

Any soil supplements suggestions?
The bushes are in 55 gallon barrels that started out filled with strait peat.
Each year I top dress with rabbit bedding, and add some human urine.
