How do I schedule a free USPS pickup? ›

And follow the prompts. It's free, regardless of the number of packages you're sending. Your letter carrier will pick up your package when your regular mail is delivered. Arrange a next-day pickup or let us know up to three months in advance that your packages will be ready.

Schedule Redelivery Service

Use the tracking barcode for your item and schedule Redelivery on a day that's more convenient for you. In select markets, recipients can also schedule Redelivery to a USPS^® Smart Locker. If you have your tracking number, you can also schedule Redelivery via USPS Tracking^®.

Always keep in mind that if your mailbox is big enough to accommodate any packages you are shipping out, you can leave those items in your mailbox for pick-up without scheduling with the USPS.

Parcel Return Service Features

Parcel drop off can be done by: Handing it to a mailperson. Placing it in a Collection Box or any location designated by the Postal Service for the receipt of mail.

While the mail pickup date and time can vary based on where your mail is heading, USPS Drop Boxes are usually emptied at least once every weekday, from Monday through Friday, and sometimes Saturday. And in places with lots of mail coming in, pickups can be twice on weekdays.

Packages that have been intercepted can either be picked up at your local post office, at a USPS distribution center, or at addresses that they have been rerouted to.

USPS Hold Mail^® service will hold ALL mail (including letters and packages) for ALL individuals at the specified eligible* address. There is no charge to request USPS Hold Mail^® service.
