I don't have nav in my car , and use the phone . I would like some advice on phone holders that you can turn landscape for nav . And where you place them in the car . Tried a magnet one but wouldn't stick , just looking for the best option .
Thank you lee

I use a magnetic ball fixing...Sainsburys fuel station for around a fiver. Very strong magnet and the phone doesn't move. It's attached to the underside of the dash, where the plastic panel is. I hate windscreen and vent fixings as my OCD deems them untidy. Phone holder options - Z4-forum.com (11)

I have also made a permanent charger in the ashtray that i used from a desktop charger from eBay and butchered it... it's wired upto an aux fuse thats in the fusebox, and comes on with ignition, landscape or portrait view.:

WOW - that was in-depth on the photos!!!

I do like the positioning of your holder, although the portrait thing would do my head in.

I decided to go just inside the door. Doesn't ruin the look of the main dash, but good viewing position for both portrait and landscape. Phone holder options - Z4-forum.com (26)

Probably worth mentioning I've had to stick a bit of glue on the holder to get it to stay.

Depending on the phone you are using, but I have been looking at these. The magnets should be strong enough. I'm not sure about the curve on the dash impeding the positioning.

Going to stick a reply on this thread just because it comes up as the first Google search result when looking for an E85 phone mount and I referred back to it a few times. Be wary of the CD Slot Mount discussed above, quite clearly works for many people but has damaged my E85 nav head unit which will no longer load discs Phone holder options - Z4-forum.com (36)

Curious as to how you look at that without taking your eyes off the road? Unless you load up the destination then just use the voice prompts?
