Eads, Henry

Earl, Robert
Robert Earl, 75, father of Virgil D. Earl and Robert W. Earl of Eugene, died January 27 at his home in Portland, it was learned today. Mr. Earl is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Catherine Earl of Portland, and the following children: Elmer Earl, Victor R. Earl, Hugh S. Earl, Mrs. M. C. Tufford and Mrs. G. W. Watson, all of Portland; Robert w. Earl and Virgil d. Earl of Eugene; and Mrs. Ella Isham of Seattle, Wash. Funeral services were held today at the residential chapel of Millerand Tracey, with interment in the Springbrook cemetery, near Dayton. Fletcher, Grant
His Body Sent to Amity
The body of Grant Fletcher, who died alone in his room last Sunday morning, was shipped to Amity, Or., last night for burial. His sister accompanied the remains. Fletcher was confused with another man, and it was inadvertently stated at the time of his death that he had several times been arrested for drunkenness. He is said to have been strictly temperate. Franklin, Benjamin
A correspondent in Yamhill on the 11th inst. writes "There seems to be no abatement of the supposed small pox on the Yamhill in the vicinity of Sheridan, and I learn that in some families all are afflicted with it. The deaths in the locality have been Benj. Franklin and two children. To day I hear that Mr. Geo. Dunbar is dead and that his family are all down with it. No new cases on the Agency. Freeman, Ruth
A funeral for Ruth M. Freeman of McMinnville will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. The Rev. Jim Peterson of the Lafayette Community Church will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville. The funeral home will be open for visitation from 8 a.m. to noon today. Mrs. Freeman died Aug. 30, 2000, in Salem Hospital. She was 74. She was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Concordia, Kan., the daughter of Leslie and Viola Cyphers Schleuder. She was raised and educated in Concordia. She moved to Oxnard, Calif., in 1944. She and Claymon Freeman were married Aug. 9, 1947, in Reno. After marrying, she lived in Klamath, Calif., and Missoula, Mont., before moving to McMinnville in 1965. She worked for Atlas Bakery in McMinnville for 25 years. She loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Janet Stuebing of McMinnville and Jeanna Malstrom of Ontario; a son, Clay Freeman of Falls City; two sisters, Donna Thyfault of Pendleton and Leora Gepner of Concordia; three brothers, Bobby Schleuder of Carrolton, Ohio, Lawrence Schleuder of Concordia and Lyle Schleuder of Fulton, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
