I think you are SOL. Just get get one of screen protectors of Amazon. I am partial to Spigen, it comes with 2 protectors and installation kit for $13. Plus there are many other brands that might cheaper then Spigen that twill come with installation kit. So if you make mistake you have another one.

Jeeez you bought a 45 dollar screen protector lol. There have been a few YouTube comparisons showing $10 screen protectors having no difference other than the brand name than belkin. Check out mobiletechrevieweh. He does a lot of torture testing of screen protectors, cases, etc.

Anyway get tape. Use the packing tape to lift the screen, use scotch tape in between to get the dust on the screen and on the back of the screen protector. That’s my way of installing screen protector without dust. After I lay the screen protector on and there’s a spec of dust the method described solves that. Make sure you properly clean using alcohol wipes before install to get rid of most dust.

But anyway don’t buy an overpriced lame screen protector from belkin. There’s online screen protectors that ship 3 per $10 and you can fix any mistakes on the install pretty easily having extra screens

Do not take the screen protector all the way off. What I generally do is: get a piece of Scotch tape that is long enough to reach the dust particle, lightly lift the screen protector using your nail at a location closest to the issue (don’t lift the screen protector any more than you need to), slide the piece of Scotch tape under the screen protector with the sticky side facing up, once the tape is over the dust particle stop lifting the screen protector with your nail and let the tape grab the dust, lightly pull on the piece of Scotch tape until it pulls all the way out from under the screen protector.

This should help fix your issue. Good luck!

P.S. - I highly recommend doing this in a well lit area and make sure you clean dust/hair off the area where you’ll be completing this procedure before starting.

I got the same one and this happened to me too.

If you purchased it at the Apple Store, you can take it back if they’re open. They’ll exchange it for you and even help you install it. I messed up mine like you did and the Apple chat specialist said to take it back to the store and they’ll replace it. I did and they happily replaced it without any issues. They took out their machine and installed it for me with a new one.

I’m curious, has anyone tried the Zagg tempered glass screen protectors?

The package says new iPhone 6.1, so I’m hoping it’s still a proper fit. Otherwise that’s $45 out the window.

Also just curious, is the Belkin better than Zagg in anyway? Used Zagg for many years, but I know Belkin has a closer relationship with Apple when it comes to accessories.

i'm not sure how it is compared to the cheap one, but i can say this belkin one is amazing, so clear and smooth, feels great, feels premium, just wish i didn't screw it up

thanks, may give this a try. my screen protector is pretty stuck on, will be still hard just to lift a corner of it.

I’ll be using ESR again, good value and cover everything.

i know nuts, hahaha. I tried to use packing tape to lift the corner but it doesn't work, i will need to pry a corner off somehow with finger nail or knife but kinda scared to do that, don't want to scratch the screen which is the purpose of the damn screen protector to begin with, how ironic.

Lesson learned. Kinda sucks though since you spent $45. The cheap glass ones on Amazon have always worked great for me, prevented a cracked screen (the glass on the protector cracks but not the screen) and are pretty easy to apply.

If you have a steamed up bathroom, that's the best spot to put a protector on as well. Also, a lot of people use the application trays but I just eyeball it and I've always been happy with the results.

I have that in my iPad Pro 2018. Very happy with it. I only used one screen protector too. I love the framing tool they include.

Don’t use a knife Please!!! Up just use your finger nail with aid from tape to lift it.

I second this. I have not heard of them before, but they had them available before Spigen even I think. Usually I do Spigen, but I was pleasantly surprised.

As someone who worked in wireless for 11 years, I have had the best experience using a wet cloth with hand sanitizer to wipe it down.. use more than you think so it gets it super clean, use a dry cloth to clear it off, use tape to get dust out and then apply!

screen protectors are consumable devices. Drop the belkin 5 feet over rocks it’ll break. Drop the esr the same way and it’ll break. They’ll need replacement. The edges are prone to cracking eventually so why totally break the bank for something you’ll replace again.

I agree. I steam up the bathroom first and let any dust settle for 5 minutes before bringing my phone in. I really think it makes a difference with reducing the chance of dust when doing an installation.
