Stephen S. Pappas, Jr., M.D., FACSis native to the Washington, DC area and has been in medical and surgical retinal practice for over 20 years.He is committed to providing personalized and compassionate retinal care and maintains expertise and current technology to customize innovative approaches for the latest retinal treatments.Dr. Pappas, Jr. works closely with each patient’s medical team to preserve and restore vision.

Education and Training

Dr. Pappas, Jr. holds a B.A. degree from Bucknell University and earned his Medical Degree (M.D.) from George Washington University in 1989. Following his Ophthalmology Residency at the Washington Hospital Center, he pursued and completed his Clinical Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Retina Institute of Maryland (now known as the National Retina Institute) in Baltimore, MD, where he performed clinical research and participated in landmark clinical trials investigating both …medical and surgical retinal treatments.
