My kids LOVE to help me in the kitchen, and I thought it would be fun for us to make a Halloween treat together. This 4 Ingredient Oreo Mummy Bark Recipe was totally inspired by the cute mummy bark from Williams Sonoma, but of course, we added our own Oreo spin to it.

If you get the chocolate chips on sale, this is a relatively cheap treat to throw together. You only need four ingredients to get it done:

  • Oreo cookies (we only used 10 of them)
  • White chocolate chips
  • Milk chocolate chips
  • Candy eyeballs

Of course, if you don’t have candy eyeballs, you could always omit them and just do some fun colored halloween sprinkles. You could also substitute baking chips or candy melts for the white or milk chocolate chips.

I love that this treat was so simple, and it’s really, really hard to mess up. Plus, you can add it or substitute pretty much whatever you’d like to really make it your own.

How to make 4 Ingredient Oreo Mummy Bark

Step 1: Line a baking sheet with wax paper.

Step 2: Crush Oreo cookies into small chunks. We put them in a plastic bag and rolled them with a rolling pin until they were in relatively small pieces. The girls loved helping at this point and practiced their best “Wreck-it Ralph” smashes.

Step 3: In a medium bowl, melt milk chocolate chips in 30 second intervals, stirring between each one, until the chocolate is smooth. If you feel like it’s not going to smooth out, you can always add 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Add the crushed Oreos, and stir to combine. (If you’re using chocolate bark, just melt it according to package directions).

Step 4: With a large spoon or spatula, spread the chocolate Oreo mixture into a rectangle on the prepared baking sheet until the chocolate is about 1/4-1/8″ thick. Set aside.

Step 5:In a small bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30 second intervals, stirring between each one, until the chocolate is smooth. Reserve about 1/4 cup of the melted white chocolate in a small plastic bag to drizzle on the top. With a spoon or a spatula, spread the remaining white chocolate over the top of the milk chocolate until covered.

Step 6: Place the candy eyes on top however you like. Obviously, I had a lot of help with this step and it was my kids’ favorite part (besides eating it).

Step 7: Cut a small corner off the plastic bag and drizzle the reserved white chocolate on top.

Step 8: Freeze for 10 minutes, then remove and cut (or break) into pieces.

We ate some, and packaged up the rest to give out to neighbors after we got boo’ed. They were a huge hit and really so easy to make (that’s our favorite kind of treat!).

I love sweets but this was to sweet for me. But it's tasty. This is what I did: melted all the chocolate and mixed in all the frosting. I put in the white mixture. I colored the thing yellow and then Layered it in. Then I added red to make it orange and layered that on top. When you turn it out the white is at the top. Saved me more bowls. I couldn't find my orange anyway. Thanks for the recipe .
